How to unshrink clothes

0

Often, our favorite clothes like jeans, sweaters and shirts become much smaller than they used to be as they have shrunk while drying.

Worry no more as there are some ways on how you can relax the fibers in your clothes and stretch them back to their original shape.

Here are some ways on how you can unshrink clothes:

Baby Shampoo or Vinegar

Baby shampoo or vinegar can relax the fibers in clothes which then makes it easier to stretch and manipulate the garment back to their original size.

Baby Shampoo

Fill the bucket or your sink with lukewarm water. Add a baby shampoo in the water. Give it a stir until it becomes soapy. Soak your garment for at least 30 minutes and wring dry afterwards.

Vinegar

Fill the bucket or your sink with lukewarm water. Add vinegar in the water. Soak your garment in the solution for at least 20 minutes. Wring dry afterwards.

After wring drying your garment with either of the methods above, et a towel and put your garment on top of it, roll the towel with the garment inside of the towel. Let the clothing soak in the towel for at least 10 minutes. Unroll the towel and gently stretch the garment to its shape and let air dry afterwards.

Note that these methods would work best on cotton, cashmere, wool or knitted clothes compared to any other fabrics.
