Boots which are too tight or have not yet been broken could be quite painful and may even cause blisters.
During the day, our feet swells which makes our feet larger, however leather tends to constrict.
Also, even if the new boots you have bought are of the right size, they tend to be stiff at times. It could stretch out a bit due by wearing it often. But, there are also other ways on how you can speed up the break-in process of your new boots.
Here are some ways on how you can break in boots:
Wear it at home
Wear your leather boots at home, walk around with it for at least 10 minutes a day. Then gradually increase the time you spend wearing it.
Apply a good boot conditioner on your boots. Place your boots in a plastic bag and set them on a warm area overnight. This would allow the conditioner to be absorbed into the surface of the boots. You could also bend the boots a bit at the heel and toe areas to speed up the process.
Wet the boots with water. Get plastic bags and wrap it on your feet. Afterwards, wear the soggy boots with the plastic bags on your feet and walk around. Let your boots air dry afterwards.
Put boot stretchers on each of your boots and leave it for a minimum for at least 24 hours. This could stretch and widen your shoe.
