Flip flops are open toed sandals which is usually worn on casual situations or events. They are also known as step-ins, thongs, slippers or jandals.
They sandals got its name ‘flip-flop’ because of the sound that it makes when it slaps between the sole of the foot and the ground or floor when worn by while walking.
Although Flip flops are far more flexible compared to other kinds of sandals due to the materials used, they still need proper care to avoid it from wearing out and losing its original color.
Here are some ways on how you can avoid wearing out your Flip flops:
Pick up feet when walking
Avoid sliding your feet as the Flip flops could rub against the ground which may diminish the sole the more it rubs the floor. It is usually the part which rubs out the greatest due to the pressure when walking.
Keep it out of reach by pets or small children
Often, when small children want to play, they may find the Flip flops interesting and may grab them or throw them away. Some dogs would also chew on the Flip flops or scratch them if they mistake it as a toy, or some cats would sleep on it. This is why it is very important to store the Flip flops properly.
Avoid stretching it out
Some of us have a habit of stretching out the Flip flop thong while sitting down. Doing this could stretch it out and could increase chances of becoming too loose around the bottom part of the Flip flops, or worse it may pull out from the sole.
